In the beginning....
Better Driver Training (BDT) was started by two dads, Chris Bensted and Ian Brett.
Ian was formerly 'Gears Driver Training' which he started after a spell with a couple of local franchises. Ian liked things to look good, enjoyed cars, mechanics and getting things done.
Chris was the face of 'CB's Driving School'. He started his career with BSM, but rapidly realised he wanted to do things differently. He had a passion for individual needs, psychology and making things FUN!
And then there were two...
Ian and Chris had been working hard supporting each other, their pupils and trying to make things better, until one day Chris suggested they actually become Better - and driving lessons in Kent and South East London haven't been the same since!
Both Mr Brett and Mr Bensted have presented and spoken at a wide range of events inside the Driver Training industry, and are a well known double act on and off the stage. They run courses training Driving Instructors across the UK, specialising in cutting edge approaches to teaching individuals. This is the ethos behind Better Driver Training - we teach individuals. Everyone is different, and we do our best to make our lessons fit.
Along came Amy, Andy, and Dean....
As word spread, others discovered the special nature of BDT. They decided they wanted to be Better too. Some from other Driving Schools, others from different backgrounds and careers.
Chris and Ian regularly meet with the team, developing new ideas, supporting different pupils and doing everything they can to make the roads safer, the learning process easier and more effective, and trying to spread the word of quality tuition for new drivers.

Trailer Training - Did you pass your test after 1997? If so you may need to take the B+e towing test before you can tow. This is a complicated subject, so Better Trailer Training off a FREE licence assessment to make your that you are safe and
Taxi Training - Better Taxi Training offers quality targeted assessments and training designed to get you through the DVSA Taxi Test - for Hackney or Private Hire licences.
Young Driver Challenge - 11-17 Driving Experiences - Based at Bromley College this pre-17 experience is both fun and educational. Created by Ian and Chris to offer something different to some of the bigger commercial experiences, this individual 1:1 or 1:group experience has changed the lives and attitudes of many young people.
